JOB TITLE: Sales and Marketing Manager Manager


REPORTS TO: General Manager

 

POSITION SUMMARY:

 

The Sales and Marketing Manager is responsible for the sale of products and services of Wolf Material Handling Systems to its customers. The efforts of the Sales and Marketing Manager to attain this goal will be made under the direction of the General Manager and Estimating Manager at Wolf MHS.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • The Sales and Marketing Manager will be responsible for investigating and developing business opportunities for current areas of Wolf's normal business activities as directed by the General Manager.
  • In addition, the Sales and Marketing Manager will look for and bring to the attention of the General Manager and Estimating Manager potential opportunities in areas outside of Wolf's normal business activities.
  • The Sales and Marketing Manager will evaluate potential opportunities received by Wolf and make recommendations as how to proceed. This includes:
    - Determining the overall project viability and potential for becoming a Wolf project.
    - Determining the client's financial ability to perform the project. Is the project funded and if so, what is the mechanism of that funding? Is it a stable company? What is their history? What is their state of incorporation? How long have they been active?
    - Are they just fishing for information or are they serious about engaging Wolf?
    - Who else might they have engaged to look at the project and how the client precedes with the work?
    - What is the project trajectory? What is the schedule?
    - What is Wolf's benefit if we pursue the project? What is our exposure?
  • The Sales and Marketing Manager will maintain complete and accurate records of his/her activities and submit monthly activity reports as agreed to with the General Manager.
  • Thorough information is to be provided to the Estimating Department to enable them to produce accurate proposals. The Sales and Marketing Manager is to be available to contact customer if further information is necessary.
  • The necessary efforts are to be made to “close” a sale and turn a proposal into an order. This will include the ability to negotiate the final contract under the direction of the General Manager.
  • The Sales and Marketing Manager will remain involved with the project after a sale is closed and assigned to a Project Manager. The purpose and extent of this involvement is to enhance customer relations to facilitate repeat business.
  • The Sales and Marketing Manager will be capable of developing "high level" or Budgetary Estimates under the supervision of the Estimating Manager.
  • A current listing of clients included in the territory of the Sales and Marketing Manager must be maintained.
  • An annual projected sales forecast must be supplied to the General Manager, and a quarterly sales forecast updated and relayed for periodic updating by the General Manager.

TERRITORY:

  • The Sales and Marketing Manager is to be responsible for the management of the entirety of the Wolf Business as directed by the General Manager. This currently includes the US and Canada, but also includes some international sales as determined by the General Manager.
  • Changes in territory will be made by the General Manager or will be considered upon request of the Sales and Marketing Manager.

EDUCATION:

  • A High School Diploma is necessary (Bachelor's Degree is preferred).

 

EXPERIENCE:

  • Eight years minimum experience in Sales and Marketing for large capital equipment projects
  • Five years minimum increasing supervisory and managerial experience preferred.
  • Should have experience with auxiliary systems which support bulk handling systems
  • Requires a strong machine design background
  • Requires previous contract management experience
  • Requires exposure to Six Sigma/LEAN principles

 

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

  • Ability to apply basic engineering, machine design principles and "know-how" to solve new and unique problems allowing us to pursue new opportunities.
  • Exceptional scheduling and schedule maintenance skills
  • Ability to conceptualize unique pieces of equipment
  • Basic knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic and electro/mechanical systems and their control.
  • Background in layout, design and detailing is required.

JOB TITLE: Estimating Manager


REPORTS TO: General Manager

 

POSITION SUMMARY:

 

Manages the estimating functions of Wolf. Implements and maintains estimating objectives and initiatives as directed by the General Manager. Extensive knowledge of Bulk Material Handling System concepts, practices, and procedures for a variety of industries. Change agent with a goal of pursuing continuous improvement. Ability to effectively communicate and build strong teams and develop long term strategies.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for managing all aspects of the Estimating Department including estimate coordination and staffing, sales support, employee development, performance management, budget planning, goal attainment, estimate execution, process improvement and policy deployment.
  • Utilize discretion for the achievement of all sales and estimating project goals, including, but not limited to: prioritizing estimates, corporate estimating quality, specification compliance, staffing, materials selection, preliminary equipment design, preliminary process design, and quality specifications in accordance with core metrics. 
  • Drives product cost improvements using lean six sigma tools and ensures a culture of continuous improvement is implemented and sustained.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams, including Research & Development, Business Development, Process Development, Planning and Supply Chain, Manufacturing Engineering and Quality, to achieve objectives.
  • Develop department strategy with a multi-year perspective, including the anticipation of potential issues, development of mitigation plans, process and management system design, and solution implementation.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Daily exposure to CAD stations and Blueprints
  • Work hours are from 8:00am to 4:30pm, Monday through Friday.
  • Flexibility and ability to travel up to 10% of the time
  • Flexibility to work overtime as required

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor's Degree with 8-10 years of experience in the field preferred but not necessary.

  • Thorough knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic and electro/mechanical systems and their control
  • Background in layout, design and detailing is required
  • Must have strong understanding of all aspects of the business
